North Cyprus Universities

North Cyprus University is a great place for everyone! If you are a foreigner and are planning to study one semester only, or maybe you plan to receive a complete education abroad, it is the best choice!

North Cyprus is one of the three largest Mediterranean islands. Citizens of North Cyprus speak Turkish (official language), French, English and German. So as a foreign student you wouldn’t have problems in communication. North Cyprus is a cosmopolitan country, so you will easily ask professors what you misunderstood.

North Cyprus has five major universities, among them are: Eastern Mediterranean, Near East, Ciprus International, Girne American and Lefke European Universities. All of them have accreditation. The Ministry of education supervises them.

Eastern Mediterranean University is the oldest university in the country. Each year some 15,000 students enter this institution. The campus of EMU is in Famagusta town; this place has many night clubs where students spend their free time.

The capital of the country is Nicosia; this is where Near East University is located. This University is considered to be a foreign student magnet. NEU cares much of students’ comfort, the quality of life is high, students are provided with various recreational amenities.

Cyprus International University naturally has many foreign students. This is the newest university in the country. It cooperates with numerous world-known universities. CIU offers various exchange programs and international learning programs. Its campus lies between Famagusta and Nicosia.

American students usually choose Girne American University. Its curriculum is modern and challenging, that is the reason why many people like it so much. Girne is a great place to study and to have fun.

Lefke European University was established in 1990, so it is a relatively new institution. Students are getting there the best innovative education. Foreign students like it for exciting experience. The campus is in Lefke.
